Storeton Woods: Butterfly Glade
Up until the Millennium this area of the woods was called the Top meadow or glade.
Because of a number of sightings of various species of butterfly in this area, the FOSW in conjunction with the Woodland Trust decided to sow a selection of wildflower seed to attract more wildlife into the glade.
Following a wildlife and bird survey carried out during 2001/02 along with discussions with the Butterfly Park team at New Ferry, the term Butterfly Glade came into existence.
